“This is the most productive 15-inch planter we've ever offered,” says Rob Rippchen, division manager, John Deere seeding division. “The machine features the Central Commodity System™ (CCS) and Pro-Series XP™ row units. It can also be configured with the Refuge Plus™ option. The new configuration of the DB60 machine is recommended for the grower who wants to plant one crop at conventional row spacing of 30 inches and a second crop at 15 inches, such as soybeans. “Alternating row units are equipped with long, parallel arms, to stagger the units seven inches to the rear of the planter to enhance residue flow,” explains Rippchen. “These staggered rows can then be locked up and out of the soil when planting at 30-inch row spacing. You've got one efficient planter for both row crop applications.” |
