Washington, DC - A total of 50 $1,000 scholarships for agricultural studies have been awarded by the National FFA Organization in conjunction with the American Farm Bureau Federation and the Dodge Division of Chrysler LLC.

Dodge provided funding, and a stipulation for earning the scholarship was that the FFA student had to be from a Farm Bureau family. Selection of winners also was based on the applicant’s academic record, FFA and other school and community activities, supervised agricultural experience program in agricultural education and future goals.

“It’s a pleasure to recognize scholarship winners from Farm Bureau families for their many accomplishments,” said Mathew Meals, AFBF Young Farmer and Rancher chair. “It’s also gratifying that so many excellent students are interested in the study of agriculture, which provides food, fiber and shelter for our nation.”

Dodge sponsors the scholarships as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. Scholarships are presented to the winning students by Dodge dealers on behalf of the company.
